So by now you have probably noticed that I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen. I do a lot of cooking…and a lot of eating. Since I am working on Christmas gifts for famiy and friends I thought I would help you all out with your chirstmas shopping too. Listed below you will find a handful of things that I think every home cook should have in their kitchen. As a bonus they are all under $25 so they would make great Christmas gifts for anyone on your list! I have even included links to Amazon.com to aide in your shopping.
Bambu “Give it a Rest” Spatula’s and Spoon’s. I found these spoons in a local store and feel in love instantly. I love them for several reasons: They have an awesome little lip on the back that keeps the spoon head off of the counter when you set it down…genius if you ask me, they are wood so they are great for use with non-stick cooking surfaces and these wooden cooking utensils are made out of bamboo so they are earth friendly. Each spoon is sold separately, but would make a great gift if given as a set. Seriously people these spoons rock!
Microplane Grater/Zester. I use this baby all the time… lemons, limes, nutmeg, hard cheeses. I have tried lots of different graters and zester and my only regret is that I didn’t get this one sooner.
Silicone Zone Flexible Cutting Boards. These cutting boards make transferring prepped food to bowls or pans so easy and because they are flexible they are far easier to fit in your sink to clean. As a bonus they come in different colors so that you wish you can keep straight which board is for cutting poultry and which one if for cutting veggies.
The Joy of Cooking. For 75 years this cookbook has been a kitchen staple. If you know someone who does not have this book you must get it for them. This cookbook is the ultimate kitchen reference. I have used this book so many times in my own kitchen…trust me, this is a must have.
Oxo Angled measuring cups. These cups make measuring so much easier. I mean who wants to bend over all the time to make sure you have the correct amount of the ingredient you need. The individual cups below would work well as gifts or they would be great given as a set too.
