Luke and I briefly toyed with the possibility of jetting off to a beach this summer for a family getaway. It only took us a day or two to decide that while some time playing on a California beach as a family would be lovely it just wasn’t going to fit this year. It wasn’t going to fit in the schedule and it wasn’t going to fit in the budget. So we’re sticking to some laid back cabin time and a Weekend with friends in Steamboat as our trips for the summer. Which means even though we will not be flying anywhere we will be driving. With the summer driving season here I know we’re not the only family planning on hitting the road in the near future. The cost of gas can really add up and start to eat into the travel budget. This is why I’ve teamed up with King Soopers to share a few tips for saving at the pump. We all like to save a little money right? There are a lot of ways to save on fuel. Everyone has their own tricks. To help save on filling up our gas tanks Luke and I try to stick with certain stations. Since we do a majority of our grocery shopping at King Soopers we use our fuel points at King Soopers gas stations when we generally use as many points as we can to get the most off per gallon as we can or at participating Shell stations where they let us use our Sooper Card points to get $.10 off a gallon. This summer King Soopers is offering 2x the fuel points when you shop on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. That means 2 points for every dollar you spend. It’s a great deal and a great way to start stocking up on fuel points to use this summer. You can find the coupon here. On several recent grocery trips I’ve also been offered 50 bonus points for completing a survey about my shopping experience. With every 100 points you earn equaling $.10 off a gallon, up to 1.00 off per gallon extra points can really add up quick.
