I’m thinking about Tuesday today. Tuesday Witt. To be honest I have been thinking about Tuesday a lot in the couple of weeks since I first heard of this beautiful little girl. How can thoughts of a little girl whom you’ve never met weigh so heavily on your heart? If you have never heard of Tuesday I am not sure I can do her story justice, so if you would like you can go here to read more.
We all know cancer is bad. It is very likely that all of you have been affected by cancer in some way.
Well, this little girl’s story has been on my mind. Maybe because I have a little girl of my own and stories like Tuesday’s scare me to the core. Maybe it’s because even though it is sad to hear of anyone suffering with cancer it is especially sad to hear of a child suffering. Maybe it is because Tuesday’s family lives in Colorado, making them almost feel like neighbors to me. Sadly I know that her story is not the only one and there are so many children hurting.
So I would like to tell you about a few things that I encourage you to take part in.
Jay over at Halftime Lessons will be shaving his head to raise money for St. Baldricks. Give Jay a visit tell him he is wonderful for doing this and maybe donate to his efforts. Every little bit helps.
Lee over at Moms Without Blogs along with Em over at Life, Liberty and the Pursuit are helping to host an online “wagie ride” in memory of Tuesday Whitt for all of us that are not able to join the Whitt Family in the real life “wagie ride” honoring their daughter. For more info on the blogland “wagie ride” visit MWOB. For more info on the real life “wagie ride” visit Tuesday’s Mom’s blog Go Blog Yourself.
Lastly, Alice 105.9, a local radio station will be holding their yearly radiothon for Children’s Hospital February 11-13. Luke and I donate every year. Children’s Hospital of Denver is a wonderful place and even though we have never had to make a trip there I am so thankful for it. There are so many ways to donate, for more information about this event you can visit Alice.
I hope that one of these “events” will touch your heart and you’ll decide to join and support it. I plan to do all three.
