When you hear the words green blogger what do you think of? Someone who preaches green living, sustainability, and Eco-mindedness? Someone who only eats organic, raises chickens, and rides a bike everywhere?
Those assumptions may be true for some. Am I a green blogger? Maybe yes. Maybe no.
I don’t consistently write about green related topics. I’m no expert. I don’t pretend to be.
I do approach my life in a green-minded way. I buy organic when I can, grow veggies in my tiny backyard, and shop at farmers markets. I have made little changes in my household to try and reduce our waste such as using reusable shopping and produce bags, cloth napkins and kitchen towels and reusable drink containers.
The point is not to pat myself on the back or compare lists. The point is being green isn’t black and white. In reality it’s a whole lot of shades of gray, or green I guess.
Can I do more? Yes, we all can. Just because I could be doing more doesn’t mean that I am not living my life in a shade of green and making choices that are green. I firmly believe that every little bit helps.
Am I full on green? Some days yes. I am confident in saying I take a green-minded approach to life.
That said I am very excited to be acting as Mom It Forward’s Green Living Community Connector. I’m looking forward to sharing ideas and learning from others. It isn’t always easy being green but learning from a diverse group of women is bound to be, enlightening, fun and full of possibilities.

This is SO well said! Being green is NOT black and white!I try to be as much as I can, but sometimes, I just can’t. For example, I have a garden in my backyard, have a CSA, go to farmer’s markets, use stainless steel lunch containers instead of zip locks….but paper towels? I go through SO many of them. I try not to..but some days I burn through a lot of those babies!!
