My little sister is 21 today. Wow. 21. That makes me feel old, (although I know I’m not).
My sister is my best friend. She is such a selfless and loving person, and I am so lucky to be able to say that she is in fact my sister. I have fought with Colleen more than anyone else, and even though I am bossy and a bit controlling she still loves me. Once upon a time when she would steal my clothes out of my room I would get so mad at her, now she is more than happy to let me borrow any of her clothes. I am pretty sure there is a lesson to be learned from this difference.
When we were younger we really didn’t look alike at all. Recently a friend of mine told me about a “sales girl” she saw in a local Banana Republic that she thought looked just like me. She thought this girl looked enough like me that she memorized her name so that she could have me go in and see my “twin.” Turns out that “sales girl” was really my Colleen. I guess you could say we look a bit more alike now.
Gina is never afraid of a little attention, I like that about her.
Years ago I started calling Colleen Gina and now I have trouble calling her by her real name. We even refer to her as Aunt G. Poor Monkey might be a little confused one day to find out that there is no G in Colleen.

In a week she will be moving to a new place, that is unfortunately a little farther than I would like. Even though I have many selfish reasons for her to stay right where she is, I am very excited for her. Even though I will miss her every day, I know that she is making a good decision. And even though there are some people that may question her decision I hope she knows that I do not.
