I think I am a fairly practical person. I don’t stay up to late most nights- unless I’m reading a book I can’t seem to put down- I eat my vegetables, I wear flats most of the time, and plan out my meals for the week before grocery shopping. This practical nature of mine leads me to also stay home and stick to the routine most of the time. Once a month I go to book club and ever so often I’l pack up my shiny lap top and head to the library of a coffee shop for some uninterrupted focus time after the girls go to bed. Other than that you can usually find me at home folding laundry, reading or cruising through gorgeous photos on Pinterest. I guess all this basically says I’m boring.
Here’s the thing. Yes, I am practical and but I do love me a good girl’s night out now and then. Actually I crave it. A night out without the kids needing me, none of the normal routine chores, or responsibilities. A night to just relax, laugh and enjoy myself. All while most likely still going to bed at a reasonable time. What can I say I’m a wild woman.
Recently I attended a Ladies’ Night Out hosted by Black Box Wine. Black Box provided the food, entertainment, and of course the wine. It was a lovely evening spent on a lovely patio in Denver eating amazing cheeses, crab cakes and chocolate dipped strawberries, sipping wine, and painting with friends. It was exactly the kind of night I had been craving. A night to relax, get a little creative and laugh a lot.
In the end I enjoyed Black Box’s Malbec and walked away with a painting that I’m actually pretty happy with. Luke’s even picked a spot for it to hang in the kitchen.
So who wants to go paint with me next time? I think I’ve found my new hobby: painting and sipping wine.
The Girl’s Night Out described above was provided by Black Box Wines. The laughter and fun were provided by fun friends and the descriptions of my practical side are all my own as are all the opinions shared… even the one about my painting being pretty good.
