I have a hidden talent.
My nose is super awesome. As in my smelling abilities are clearly above average.
Take for instance this little example.
I can smell that my daughter is getting sick before she actually shows signs of it. If a cold is coming on my nose knows before it makes it’s appearance in the form of a coughing, snotty nosed kid.
Does this ability make me a freak? Well, I not sure of the answer to that. I’m not even sure that this extra sensory boost is all that great. I mean really, does it make a difference that I know she is getting sick before anyone else? Not really. The sick is coming by the time my nose has detected it and there is nothing I can do about it.
I’ll get back to you when my “skill” can help actually do something worthwhile like end world hunger or predict the weather. Until then we’ll just think of my “gift” as a super limited ability to see a the snot that lies in my future.

Hilarious! One of my best friends has a super sensitive nose, and it's definitely a negative. She's often had problems with thinking people and places smell so bad it's difficult for her to interact. And nobody likes someone who calls you smelly. Though I don't know if she can diagnose future ailments – now that is a superpower!
Oy. I think I would not want to know! Better to be blindsided with snot.
Wait, nevermind. I think I want your sniffer.
I had that skill with pregnancy but it wasn't that great. Made me sick most of the time. Lucky you are not around here right now you would be smelling sick all over the place.
Uh oh! The yucky cold has hit our house along with a nice black eye on FiFi just in time for Andrea's wedding.
I hope Maddy gets well soon!
